Chunky Backcountry Salsa (Makes About 3/4 Cup)
1/2 Cup Dehydrated Tomatoes
1 Tablespoon Dehydrated Corn
1/2 Tablespoon Dried Onion
1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/2 teaspoon Dehydrated Jalapeño Dices (more if you like it hot)
2 teaspoons Penzy's Salsa Seasoning
3/4 Cup Cool Water
At Home: Combine all ingredients except water in a small Ziplock® bag.
At Camp: Either in the zip bag or in a small cup stir the water into the dry mixture, cover or close. Let soak for a total of 30 minutes, stiring every 10 minutes and checking the water level. You want to have enough water for rehydrating but not so much that you have watery salsa. After the veggies are your desired tenderness, stir and enjoy! |
